Built for UK money

UK tax rules, modelled in, not bolted on

Most planners ask for a growth rate and stop. Moola works out what you actually keep, using the same rules HMRC does.

ISA, SIPP and LISA

ISA contributions stay inside the annual allowance, SIPP payments get basic-rate relief added, and a LISA earns its 25% bonus.

Plan 1 to Plan 5 student loans

Repayments come off your salary at your plan’s threshold and rate, month by month, until the balance is cleared.

Salary sacrifice

Sacrificed pay goes into your pension before tax and National Insurance, so you see both the smaller pay packet and the bigger pot.

National Insurance

National Insurance comes off at the current thresholds, so take-home is a real figure rather than a rough percentage.

Income tax bands

Personal allowance, basic, higher and additional rate, including the allowance taper once income passes £100,000.

State pension

The state pension is added from state pension age, so retirement income isn’t only what you’ve saved yourself.

Check your take-home on the tax page →

Outside the UK? Moola also models US and German income tax. Anywhere else, you project from your take-home pay.

Ask anything

Model a decision by just asking

Moola's chat knows your numbers. Ask what a move would do, or what a term means, and get an answer in plain words.

“Can I afford a £450k house?”“What does salary sacrifice mean?”“What if I take 6 months off?”

Illustrative example. Moola answers with your own figures, it never gives financial advice.

Your data stays yours

Before you type a single number, here’s how it’s handled. No data is ever sold, and you’re in control of what you share.

Encrypted connections
Your data travels over encrypted connections. Bank connections and uploaded documents are encrypted in our database.
Try before you connect
Type your numbers in to start, connecting a bank account is optional, never required.
Read-only Open Banking
If you do connect, it’s read-only through FCA-regulated Open Banking. Moola can never move your money.
Is Moola for you?

Built for some jobs, honest about the rest

Moola is for you if…

you want to know if you're on track, the age you could stop working, how long your safety net would last, and what a house, a move or a career break would change. Built for the UK, and for expats managing money across countries.

It's not for you if…

you're after stock picks, day-trading tools or someone to manage your investments, Moola does none of that. And if you want regulated financial advice, that takes a human adviser; Moola gives you the numbers to bring to them.

Questions people ask first

Is my bank data safe?

You don't have to connect a bank at all, you can type your numbers in by hand. If you do connect, it's read-only through FCA-regulated Open Banking, so Moola can see balances but can never move your money. Your data travels over encrypted connections, is never sold, and you can delete your account, and everything in it, whenever you want.

Is this financial advice?

No. Moola is a financial-planning and information tool, not an adviser. Projections are illustrative and based on the assumptions you provide. For a personal recommendation you'd speak to a qualified financial adviser, Moola is somewhere to think it through first and arrive at that conversation knowing which questions are yours to ask.

What does Moola Pro cost?

Moola is free to start and needs no card. Moola Pro is £10.99 a month, or £99.99 a year. Pro adds unlimited what-if scenarios, bank connections that stay fresh, Ask Moola on WhatsApp and ongoing coaching. You can cancel any time from your account page.

Do I have to connect my bank, or can I type my numbers in?

Typing them in works completely, that's the default, and plenty of people never connect anything. Connecting a bank just saves the typing and keeps balances up to date automatically. It's optional, never required, and read-only either way.

Can my partner and I plan together?

Yes, Moola models a joint household plan, including both incomes, shared property and how expenses split between you. Pro covers the person who subscribes, including your joint plan; your accounts stay shared either way, and your partner only needs their own Pro to build scenarios from their side.

Does Moola work outside the UK?

Yes, with one limit worth knowing. Moola shows the accounts of the country you live in, ISAs, SIPPs and LISAs in the UK, 401(k)s, IRAs and HSAs in the US, Super in Australia, CPF in Singapore, and you can hold accounts across several countries and currencies at once, all converted into your reference currency. Full tax modelling covers the UK (income tax, National Insurance and Plan 1 to Plan 5 student loans) and the US (federal and state income tax). Everywhere else, you project from your take-home pay.
